The Fine
Arts Series
(
A progression of four art classes)
Matthew Lewis
High Point
offers a series of two dimensional courses that focus on the elements
and principles of art: Fine Arts 1,2,3 and 4. Fine Arts 1 & 2
are introductory level classes designed for all students interested in
art. Fine Arts 3 & 4 are for the more serious art student who
would like to develop a portfolio.
All classes
work primarily 2-D and are focused creative problem, imagination, perserverence,
divergent thinking skills, art appreciation, the elements of design, and
how art is an integral part of our lives.
Janet Fish
Work in these
classes start in Fine Arts 1 with an introduction to art
and the elements of design. Art History and appreciation are the cornerstone
of the student experience.
Fine
Arts 2 continues with a strong Art History component and builds
on the elements of design learned in Fine Arts 1. Students have an
opportuntiy to work more independently and are given more challenging work.
Fine
Arts 3 begins work on a portfolio for submission
to colleges. This class explores each students own style and refines
important art skills.
Fine
Arts 4 is the final and most challenging of the Fine Arts
series. Students create their own exhibit of art and create an amazing
portfolio of art for presentation.
