Community Projects

Make A Difference Day- The MCI class participates every year in Make A Difference Day, a national day of doing good. The following were some of past projects-

2004- Book Collection for Little Sprouts Day Care- the MCI class won an honorable mention from the Points Of Light Foundation for this project.

2005- Biscuits for Katrina Dogs- The MCI class and Mrs. Heinke's Multiply Disabled class baked dog biscuits for dogs who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The dogs were being sheltered at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

2006- Book Collection for Little Sprouts Day Care Part 2- This time we collected over 600 children's books for the children and families of Project Self-Sufficiency and Little Sprouts Day Care. The MCI students also delivered the books and read stories to the children.

2007- We are currently working on a project to coordinate a district-wide collection of letters to soldiers, artwork for soldiers and funds to purchase pre-paid phone cards for military personnel. This will be our Make A Difference Day project for '07. You can visit the Make A Difference Day website At www.makeadifferenceday.com for more information and to look up our project.
