GOTTA SING!
I'm passionate about singing, and
count it a privilege to work with the singers in the High Point Choral
Program. I love exploring the capabilities of this amazing instrument,
and working with students to bring life and expression to beautiful works
of art. My duties include accompanying the Concert Choir, assisting
to direct the Concert Choir, accompanying the Chamber Singers, and organizing
and implementing the sectional lesson program.
Sectional lessons are a very
important element of the choral program. As students come to work
specifically on their voice part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass), they receive
more individual attention than is possible in the large choral rehearsal.
In addition to learning their melody or harmony part very well, students
work on advanced vocal techniques and music reading. Students are
required to attend three sectionals lessons per marking period. Many
sectionals are offered throughout the marking period during 4th, 5th, 8th
and 9th periods.
