International Club

International Club

The International Club is an organization for students who are studying Latin, French, German, or Spanish.  The purpose of the club is to provide opportunities for students:

1.  To expand and use their language skills beyond the classroom setting.
2.  To explore other cultures.
3.  To participate in service projects that contribute to positive change in the world.
4.  To understand ways that individuals can contribute to world peace efforts.
5.  To learn about career opportunities using foreign languages.
6.  To have exposure to other languages they are not already studying.
7.  To socialize with othe rstudents who are studying world languages.
8.  To promote appreciation and understanding of world cultures and languages in the school and community.

Past activities of this club include trips to New York City to the United Nations, the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, Rockerfeller Center, Broadway plays and ethnic restaurants, trips to Quebec and Epcot, fundraisers for UNICEF and other organizations helping world communities in need, guest speakers on a variety of topics, Mardi Gras and other cultural parties, and holiday caroling in several languages.
